I began my culinary journey at nine years old; Mexican food and cookies were my expertise. I loved food and didn’t have any knowledge of nutrition. I was overweight and suffered from anemia. I was always exhausted and wasn’t happy with the way I looked. I tried every fad diet, pill, program, you name it. I began reading nutrition books (I think I’ve read about 300 and continue to do so) and suddenly, everything changed. All of my unwanted weight fell off and all I did was eat exciting and flavorful food!
In an attempt to help others reach their goals, I left the life of cooking in fine dining restaurants and resorts (where I had opportunities to cook with and for amazing people; such as the Executive Chef of the White House, Walter Scheib) and began working in the nutrition department of the largest hospital company in Arizona. Needless to say, it was extremely disappointing. Nutrition and great food is not combined as it should be.
I am on a mission to share amazingly flavorful AND nutritious meals that everyone will enjoy! I believe every person should have the knowledge and skills that I didn’t have as a nine year old girl.
Chef Ingrid Style is a combination of everything that has helped me reach and stay at my ideal weight and of my culinary style and expertise!
